February 2015 : Don’t miss the French Forum for Vancouver’s Future!
This year, British Colombia’s Youth Council (CJFCB) is organising Vancouver’s local Forum which will take place on Thursday, April 30th 2015, in partnership with Simon Fraser University (SFU), the event’s official host. We await more than 150 bilingual students, ranging from grades 10 to 12, from francophone and French immersion schools from the greater Vancouver area.
A unique opportunity The forum will be at Simon Fraser University’s Burnaby campus and the day will be filled with meaningful exchanges and discussions. The students will learn about organisations that offer services in French and will meet professionals who are involved in the francophone community of British Colombia. Debating activities will allow the young francophones of the Vancouver area to express their needs and expectations concerning their French culture. There will also be cultural and sporting activities which will brighten everyone’s day.
We also have the chance to welcome Rolly Lumbala, a professional football player for the BC Lions, who will be our guest of honour during the opening speeches. This Forum will have both social and educational aims, as the students will be able to socialize and create ties while also learning about the educational, professional and international mobility opportunities that are offered to them in French.
