THE GRAND VOYAGE THIS YEAR!
The Grand Voyage is coming back February 18th to 21st, 2027, for its 7th edition! It will take place in Winnipeg, during the second week of the Festival du Voyageur.
We are looking for 6 to 8 students from Simon Fraser University’s French Cohort Program who wish to take part in this winter adventure!
This year, don’t miss
- the By-and-For youth evening P’tit Rendez-Vous presented by the Conseil jeunesse provincial (CJP) de Manitoba,
- exploring The Forks market
- a guided tour of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba
- a visit to the Canadian Museum for Human Rights
- electrifying concerts in French, and more!

WHAT IS THE GRAND VOYAGE?
The Grand Voyage is an unforgettable experience for Simon Fraser University French Cohort Program students aged 19 and over.
For a weekend, we fly to Winnipeg to experience the Festival du Voyageur, the largest francophone winter festival in Western Canada. During the 4-day stay, participants will have the chance to attend concerts, visit the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, skate on the Red River and enjoy the general atmosphere of the Festival, with its impressive snow sculptures and traditional food. It's also an opportunity to learn more about the region's Métis and Aboriginal communities and cultures, the history of the Voyageurs and the Franco-Manitoban community. Every year, the B.C. delegation has the chance to meet french-speaking youth from other provinces and territories, whether Saskatchewan, Alberta, the Yukon or Manitoba. It is an opportunity to forge lasting ties with the wider Franco-Canadian community.
The goal: to experience a full weekend of diverse activities to broaden your social, cultural and educational horizons! The Grand Voyage is coordinated by the CJFCB and Simon Fraser University’s Office of Francophone and Francophile Affairs (OFFA).
THROWBACK ON THE GRAND VOYAGE 2026!
From February 19-22, seven students in the French Cohort Program at Simon Fraser University had the opportunity to fly to Winnipeg to attend the Festival du Voyageur, the largest Francophone music festival in Western Canada!
On the agenda: concerts, exploring The Forks Market and the St. Boniface neighbourhood, a tour of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, and an evening with the Manitoba Francophone Youth Council (CJP)!
Thank you to the participants for joining us on this adventure and for the energy you brought!
